Dunfermline Athletic are delighted to announce that 20 year old centre back, Xavier Benjamin has joined the club on loan from Cardiff City until end of the season, subject to international clearances.
Xavier started in the Fulham youth system and played 27 times in the U18 Premier League before at the age of 18 making the switch to the Cardiff City Academy in June 2022.
The defender made an impact on joining Darren Purse’s young U21 side, he quickly took on the captain’s armband and led by example. A commanding presence in the Bluebirds’ backline, Xavier was named Cardiff City FC Academy Player of the Season in April 2023.
Xavier who has dual nationality English/ Jamaican, has played for Cardiff this season in the EFL Cup and on 6th January this year he started against Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup.
