During today’s half time interval a number of parents, who are committee members of the Friends of the Pars Academy, will hand over a cheque worth £8000 to the club.
The Friends of the Pars Academy was formed by the parents of our Academy players to help raise funds to support the Academy activities.
£5000 of the money donated today came from a Sponsored Walk undertaken by the Academy players to help raise further funds in establishing our new training pitch at Rosyth. ‘Our Goal is our Goals’ was the slogan used to set a target of raising money to help contribute towards the purchase of 3 sets of 7-a-side goals at the facility.
Each Academy player walked around the track at KDM East End Park Seventeen times, which was the equivalent distance of walking from KDM East End Park to the training centre at Rosyth.
The additional £3000 donation is to help cover the cost of the purchase of kit for the Academy players for the coming season.
Each month the Friends of the Pars Academy have a draw for 3 prize winners from the members who pay £10 per month to have a share in the Friends of the Pars Academy. Winners receive £100 and on a monthly basis after pay out to the winners, £700 is raised for donation to the club.
