Trialist Striker due in Austria
Monday, 7th Jul 2008Macca: "We will have a look at him because we need to sign two more strikers.
Jim McIntyre is expecting a trialist German striker to arrive at the Austrian training camp today (Monday). Joseph Laumann 24 year old has Bundesliga experience with FC Schalke 04 although he has more recently been playing in the German first division with Rott-Weiss Erfurt.
"We will have a look at him because we need to sign two more strikers. We need another midfielder as well. These are the positions that we need to fill."
Most of the squad went through a very comprehensive 90 minute training session on Monday morning.Stephen Glass came through that fine and is expected to play on Wednesday against Timisoara.Iain Williamson returned after suffering a stomach upset that has severely weakened him over a period of three days. Calum Woods with a slight groin strain, Graeme Holmes with hamstring tightening and Stuart Dearden with a ligament twinge were all excused the session. The Pars boss explained:-
"Not having a big squad means that if boys do start to feel twinges when they are worked hard here it is up to them to take the responsibility to stop now rather than grin and bearing it.We don't want them out for two weeks because of a slight strain.
"It is just being clever and professional about it.The ones we have seen are just small niggly ones, the kind you get in pre season all the time."
