Ryan Ferguson's six month long loan deal from Dundee United was concluded in mid July and he celebrated that by scoring on his starting debut for Dunfermline on Saturday 20th July 2013 against Falkirk.
A native of Kirriemuir, Ryan has progressed through the youth system at Tannadice and in 2009-10 he was drafted in from the Under-17s for a tough visit to Aberdeen where he performed well in United's 2-1 win.
An attacking midfielder he has been a consistent performer through the years and in 2010-11 was given a two year contract in the professional youth side. He was used sparingly in season 2010-11, making most of his thirteen appearances from the bench. Ryan travelled to Oban at the start of 2011-12 and joined first team players during the annual tournament for the Keyline Challenge Cup. That was followed up with a trip to Poland with the first team squad for the Europa League match.
In 2011-12, Ryan was an ever present in the SPL youth league with two of his appearances coming from the bench. He scored just one league goal. He was also an ever present in the SFA Youth Cup run and netted twice in that competition. During that season Ryan was included in the Scotland Under-18 training camps and had his contract extended until the end of the season 2012-13.
In March 2013, Ryan went out on loan to Brechin City FC until the end of the season and then was loaned to Dunfermline for six months commencing July 2013.
Twelve appearances for Dunfermline, one goal.
