On 21 June 2023 Dunfermline Athletic announced the signing of Ewan Otoo on a permanent three year deal. A member of the League One title winning team the previous season, Ewan played in eleven matches while on loan from Celtic from February 2023.
The 20 year old defender, who can play on the left side or in central defence, impressed as he captained Celtic B against Dunfermline in the SPFL Trust Trophy back in November 2022. Following a serious hamstring injury to Rhys Breen, Ewan formed a central defensive partnership with Kyle Benedictus and played every minute of the Pars final eight League One matches.
Ewan was eight years of age when he first joined Celtic and came through the youth system to be offered a professional contract in June 2019 at the age of sixteen.
In 2021 while on loan Ewan made fifteen appearances for Clyde, all but two were starts. The Bully Wee manager at the time, Danny Lennon was reported to have been very impressed with the young player.
Ewan was the captain of Celtic B and has started virtually all their games this season. He has played for Scotland at youth level but also qualifies to represent Ghana.
