Through Thick and Thin – FREE Under-12 Season Ticket
Thursday, 28th May 2015DAFC Season Tickets are now on sale for the 2015-16 season, in which Allan Johnston’s reshaped team will be looking to secure promotion to the Championship.
The appointment of a high calibre manager like Allan has already provided a big boost to the supporters.
Allan Johnston commented “I have only been at the club a short time, but I can see the passion there is for our club, amongst loyal supporters who have backed DAFC through thick and thin. We need to hit the ground running next season, and I intend to have the players back earlier for pre-season this year. We need a big, noisy home support at East End Park next season, so I would urge as many supporters as possible to back our club by purchasing a season ticket.”
Although only launched last season, our initiative to offer free season tickets for all under 12’s (if accompanied by an adult) has already proved highly successful. We urge as many to take advantage of the offer. Ross McArthur, DAFC Managing Director stated
“As highlighted on numerous occasions, it is imperative that we attract the youngsters of West Fife to East End Park on a regular basis. In late October, we launched an innovative primary school engagement strategy, as our key focus is on 5 to 12 year old’s. We have already reached almost half of the local schools in West Fife.
It is clear that by the age of 12 a club allegiance is imbedded, therefore we need to work harder to ‘make the habit rather than trying to change the habit’. However, we also need to ensure that there is an incentive for more youngsters and families to attend matches. The Board believe that by offering a free season ticket to a child under 12 (if accompanied by an adult) it is a step in the right direction. We actively promote this fantastic offer at all of our schools programmes.”
The Richards Family from Dunfermline show their support for the “Through Thick and Thin” campaign. Granddad, Gordon is joined by grandchildren, Harrison and Layton having taking advantage of the new pricing strategy for Under 12’s. Gordon himself, is a familiar face around East End Park, as he has looked after our match day mascots for a number of years, so knows more than most the importance of our club engaging with youngsters.
Gordon who was pictured in the Dunfermline Press with his sons at East End Park in 1985, added “it is great to see that our club is trying to make it as affordable as possible for families with young children to attend matches. Harrison and Layton love going to East End Park to see The Pars and Sammy The Tammy, and I would encourage as many families in West Fife as possible to take advantage of this fantastic offer from DAFC, and support our club through thick and thin.”
