Dunfermline Athletic

The return of a major local sponsor

Tuesday, 5th Dec 2017

Dunfermline Athletic can announce a two-year sponsorship with Dunfermline based furniture company ‘Thomsons World of Furniture’.

Thomsons World of Furniture has furnished thousands of homes across Dunfermline and for generations is just a long throw away from East End Park, off Halbeath Road. The deal marks a return to the club for Thomsons, who were previously a major sponsor at the club in the 1980’s.

As part of the two-year deal, Thomsons are sponsorshing the club’s official YouTube channel, and are planning a series of matchday activations for the second half of the 2017/18 season. The sponsorship will also see Thomsons carry out upgrades to the Main Stand hospitality areas and Boardroom at East End Park.

Commenting on the sponsorship agreement, Michael Mlotkiewicz, General Manager at Dunfermline Athletic Football Club said: “Many Pars Fans will remember Thomsons as being our shirt sponsor during the iconic 1988/89 season, when we won the old First Division. We are delighted to welcome Thomsons back to the club, and look forward to working with them on some exciting fan activities over the season ahead.”

Jim Ballantyne, Managing Director of Thomsons World of Furniture, said: “As a local business which has been well served by the people of Dunfermline and its surrounding areas for many years, we are delighted to be showing our support for Dunfermline Athletic Football club.

It’s a fantastic club with a proud history, which means a lot to the people of Dunfermline.”
