Smith not held over a Barrow

Monday, 9th Jan 2012

Andy Barrowman:- "We win or lose as a team and no one is blaming the big man. He is disappointed and held his hands up and apologised."

Andy Barrowman heads in opening goal v Inverness

Andy Barrowman described the draw at Inverness and the last gasp equaliser:-

"It was pretty much the last kick of the ball and with the manner of the goal it was a sore one. There is no getting away from that. We have done enough to win the game but when a team goes down to ten men it can sometimes be harder for the team with eleven.

"I felt that we did well and they never really looked like scoring - it was more long range efforts. We defended well and thought that we had done enough to see the game out but obviously not."

Full Time at the Caledonian Stadium

The former Caley Thistle player had sympathy for his goalie who had performed well for 94 minutes without a flaw:-

"The goalie was unfortunate, it is a lonely place to play when they make a mistake. Other players on the pitch can make ten mistakes and get away with it, when they make one more than likely it is a goal. We win or lose as a team and no one is blaming the big man. He is disappointed and held his hands up and apologised."

Andy would not dispute the six added minutes - "We are not allowed to argue anyway" he added, but the treatment to John Potter, Paddy Boyle and Martin Hardie in separate incidents combined with the six substitutions contributed to the lengthening the match.

"It feels like a defeat but we have to pick ourselves up; we are still in the cup and it is not a goal that has knocked us out of the cup."

The relatively easy header that gave Andy the opening goal on the half hour was welcome to the striker:-

"It was nice because it has been a while since I have had a we tap in like that. We are not getting much luck at the moment, most of it is bad luck so we need to work hard since that's the only way we are going to get out of that."

The replay means that Dunfermline's home form will need to change if they are to progress to the last 16:-

"Our home form is something we talked about at the start of the season and the quicker we address that the better."
