Shop makes big drop
Saturday, 19th Oct 2013Marvyn Stewart handed over a cheque for £10,000 to Dunfermline Athletic Football Club for monies raised in Supporters Shop.
The fantastic efforts of Marvyn Stewart in the Supporters Shop over the last few months (along with the many hundreds of supporters who have recycled their Pars items) were recognised at half time in Saturday's home match against East Fife. Marvyn handed over a cheque for £10,000 to Dunfermline Athletic Football Club.
This money will be transferred into respective £5,000 block of shares in Pars United Limited for both Dunfermline Athletic Supporters Club and the Elizabethian Travel Club. Marvyn has also raised a further £5,000 that will be handed over to DAFC once we have agreed on the best solution for the money, but it is likely to go to the Club's youth system.
Marvyn was joined on the park by members of both the Supporters Club and the Elizabethan Travel Club.
Marvyn will shortly move into her new "home", which is the old ticket office opposite the Club Shop, which will not only provide more space but is a warmer and safer place for her to be. In turn, this is Pars United's recognition of the fantastic work Marvyn and her colleagues continue to do in her wee "gold mine".
The positive work undertaken by Marvyn and the generosity of fellow Pars Fans is the type of proactive activity is very much what is needed over the next few months to take Dunfermline Athletic Football Club forward. A woman of over 70, not in particularly good health has been an inspiration to many.
