It was an evening of pure nostalgia as the Pars Supporters Trust celebrated the Rollercoaster 80's in the company of 16 players and managers from that decade.The Alhambra was very busy with an estimated 600 fans turning up to enjoy video footage and comments from their past heroes.

Chants that you would possibly never expect to hear again- Super John, Westy, Westy and Jacko, Jacko were sung along to accompany the players entrance on stage and performances on tape.

Gregor Abel had the audience in full song with his "Dunfermline" song while stories included John Watson revealing the newspapers photographing the promotion winning side in 1986 at Stenhousemuir before they had even gone on the pitch just to suit deadlines.

Bobby Robertson entertained with a story where his medical expertise was called upon to deliver a baby.The delivery was awkward but when he handed the newly born child over to the proud father, exclaiming that he had just gained a son, the reply was what a result.Bobby was a little slow to discover that the Dad was referring to a victory over Falkirk.

Bobby Forrest revealed his feelings for crossing a ball that Adrian Sprott converted for Meadowbank endangering the Pars promotion hopes in the final match of the 1988-89 season.  Fortunately, John Watson nutmegged the Meadowbank keeper to ensure the celebrations could go ahead.

Ziggy Bowie talked about his induction into the Dunfermline Hall of Fame.Despite the efforts of his table sponsors, the Dunfermline Building Society, to keep the honour a surprise until the announcement.He confided that a congratulations call from Jim Leishman just as the dinner started had let the cat out of the bag.

There were plenty of stories and fans truly enjoyed seeing the video footage of such a successful era in the history of Dunfermline Athletic.
