Pars fan Christmas wish comes true!

Sunday, 8th Jan 2017

Young fan, Robbie Fairley`s Christmas dream came true thanks to DAFC with some help from Santa and friends.

Topps, the UK’s leading collectibles company, gave Santa Claus a helping hand this Christmas by gifting some special SPFL Match Attax 2016-17 trading cards to young Dunfermline fan, Robbie Fairley, which allowed him to complete his collection and on Thursday 5th January he visited East End Park to show off his collection to Pars Captain, Andy Geggan.

Robbie (6) wrote to Santa Claus asking for the cards missing from his collection and Topps, along with help from the club and the Pars Foundation, stepped in and sent the much sought after cards in time for Christmas.

Available now, Topps Match Attax, the world’s most successful football trading card game, offers fans of all ages a fun-filled addition to the new SPFL season. Featuring all of Scotland’s Premiership and Championship clubs, there are over 300 cards to collect including ‘star players’, ‘rising stars’, ‘top-rated man of the match’, ‘awesome penalty takers’ plus 100 club cards.

This year’s collection also boasts more limited edition cards than ever before, and a guaranteed shiny card in every pack!

Dunfermline Athletic’s Andy Geggan added:

“It was great to have Robbie here today. he was really excited to be at the club and show us his collection. We are a community club and if there is any way we can assist someone in our community, we are more than happy to get involved, so our grateful thanks go to Topps for gifting the cards this Christmas.”

Steve Conner, National Sales Manager at Topps, said:

“SPFL Match Attax is continuing to grow in popularity year on year, and this season’s SPFL edition trading card game has been a huge hit with our collectors. We were absolutely delighted to help one very special collector’s Christmas wish come true and complete his collection.”

“The collection is bigger and better than previous editions, with even more new cards to collect, giving fans like Robbie the opportunity to play a fresh, new version of SPFL Match Attax.”
