Moore at the double

Sunday, 25th Aug 2013

"At half time we thought we could come back and luckily enough we did. I am happy with that."

Jordan Moore

Jordan Moore got his Dunfermline goal tally off the mark with two goals in a remarkable match at Ochlview Park on Saturday. The on loan Dundee United striker started up front alongside Craig Dargo. Dunfermline were 3-0 down when he hit the net in style on 55 minutes and when he was brought down in the box by Ross Smith with four minutes remaining he converted the spot kick to make the teams level on four goals each.

"It is good to come back and get the win. When I scored my first goal I thought we could get it back but when it went to 4-2 I thought maybe not. Two goals in the last few minutes was a great feeling."

The 19 year old was confident to assume responsibility for the penalty since he has been handed that task everywhere he has played:-

"I thought 'take it man' so I did. I put it away and it was good to get the goals. We missed a few chances in the first half but they went in in the second.

"They scored from a setpiece and a mistake when the ball was played back. At half time we thought we could come back and luckily enough we did. I am happy with that."

The young striker was unaware how the clock was running away from his side, sitting two goals behind with six minutes remaining of the regulation 90.

"My penalty was in 86 and the last couple of minutes felt much longer after the 89th minute winner. It was good, that was just my second start and first goals. I have previously come off the bench to get a few minutes in other games."

Jordan described himself as a goalscorer when he arrived at Dunfermline and he certainly demonstrated that against Stenhousemuir.

"I came on loan from United to play games and score as many goals as I can before I go back there at Christmas. I am loving it, they are good boys and it is really good to be here. The gaffer is different from what I was accustomed to at United but he has so much experience. I will stay with him and try and take everything he says on board."
