Dunfermline Athletic

Matchday Programme v Cowdenbeath

Friday, 26th Oct 2012

the Game has 48-fact filled pages every issue, filled with original material and interviews that you can't get anywhere else.

We know that you can get a lot of stuff now on the internet, but we like to think that there's nothing that can provide in-depth coverage in the way that the Game can.  And it's more flexible - you can read it in bed at night, alongside your corn flakes in the morning, or even on the loo!

IN THIS WEEK'S ISSUE

THE GAME COVER"DAFC is a very family orientated Club, it has a different feeling from the other bigger clubs that I played at like Liverpool for instance - the supporters, the people in Dunfermline, the manager, and all the players welcomed me and my family when we came to live in the town." Read Istvan Kozma's interview ahead of his return from Hungary to have his Hall of Fame induction.

"I had a sneaky that Falkirk might do something, so you'll all be delighted that it looks like I know hee-haw."Sun columnist and BBC commentator Bill Leckie is coming to East End Park for Sunday Brunch on 25th November.Get a foretaste of his humour in our First Voice interview.

Pars Under 20s are doing superbly and one man who is ensuring that our youth programme is working is Head of Youth Development Stephen Wright.  Read about Stephen's trip to the Ukraine where he studied Dinamo Kiev's approach to elite youth football."

"I also worked as an insurance consultant for 6 months, which I hated, then I got a job in a factory in Touch driving a fork lift truck." Hall of Fame inductee Allan Evans describes the pain of playing part-time for the Pars in 1976 prior to his transfer to Aston Villa where he went on to become a legend as part of their European Cup-winning side.Read the interview.

On This Day in 1996 Colin Miller earned his sixth cap as a Pars player in Canada's goalless World Cup qualifying match in Panama. By the time his career ended he had made 61 appearances, a total which remains the joint eighth highest in his country's footballing history.Just one of many useful facts that you'll finds only in the Game.

"Leish was just like he is today, the life and soul of the place - a menace out on the park, though!"Former Pars and Cowdenbeath defender Kenny Thomson reminisces about his days with both clubs.

Craig Levein was roundly condemned for his infamous 4-6-0 formation against the Czech Republic.  But did you know that it was first used by Hungary in 1954, and copied by such greats as Brazil, AS Roma, Man United and Barcelona?  Read Jim Macdonald's fascinating article.

As well as all of this, we are putting three lucky stickers in three programmes for fans - the prize being a free ticket to the Dumbarton game!  The winners just need to come in to the Ticket Office with their winning programme to claim their voucher for a ticket.

the Game has 48-fact filled pages every issue, filled with original material and interviews that you can't get anywhere else. You can buy it for £3-00 from the Club Shop or from sellers around the ground on matchdays.  Go on.
