Marv Deserves a Medal

Tuesday, 17th Nov 2020

Marvyn Stewart received her well earned and richly deserved British Empire Medal.

On behalf of the wider Pars Family, we were delighted to see that long time loyal supporter of our club, Marvyn Stewart finally received her well earned and richly deserved British Empire Medal.

Due to the lockdown, Marvyn’s presentation was cancelled earlier in the year, and rather than go ahead with the larger function, as previously planned, it was decided to have the recipients in one at a time, to meet the social distancing protocols.

Marvyn outlined her day “It was lovely and we were treated so well. There were three stewards, the Lord Lieutenant and his wife, Linda the organiser and the photographer. Both my daughters, Emma and Julie were able to attend which was brilliant. Everyone was very courteous and friendly. My daughter, Julie got the honour of pinning the medal to my jacket, then we were all given a glass of Prosecco! I was then asked to give a talk about what I was doing at DAFC. All in all, it was very exciting and I would like to thank everyone who put me forward this. The medal is beautiful.”
