Dunfermline manager Stevie Crawford said after his team’s fifth home win in a row:-

“To get nine points out of three games we are delighted, credit to the boys. I thought first half we were excellent today again. We should have been more goals up but we weren’t.

“Greg Kiltie got his reward through following up. Sometimes a tap in is as nice to see as a ball going into the top corner to go two nothing up. Credit to Morton they came at us and had a spell in that second half where the6 made it very uncomfortable.

“Speaking to the team after it, the pleasing things for us was managing to see out that period in the game where possibly earlier in the season we could have folded a little bit.

“They got a little bit of luck but then we proved the quality that we have in the team with Ryan Dow on the counterattack, Nisbet’s run and then the quality to pass it into the corner to give us that cushion towards the end of the game. To make it 3-1 was really pleasing.”

For the second match running anxiety crept in as Dunfermline tried to hold on to a one goal lead. Stevie continued:-

“It is brilliant today that we now see ourselves sitting in third place. Every week I say it, the league is so competitive we can’t get carried away with it. The pleasing thing for us was when we went through that sticky patch. Today we managed to find something from somewhere. Players can say they want to do it or you really want to do it. The boys have done that today.”

Kevin Nisbet made it seven goals in a week and SC praised his appreciation of those around about him:-

“If you ask his teammates, they have a belief that he has goals in him. That feeds throughout the team. Kevin now knows that he is scoring goals at this level and that is important for him as an individual as well.

“He has had a wee pat on the back and he is getting a wee bit of press attention but it is not affecting him. There will be games coming up where people will be looking out for him now. He is going to have to face different challenges but then it was pleasing for me when I am listening to his interviews or reading his press comments that he is first to praise his teammates.

“Today will be no different, Ryan Dow has played that one through to him when he makes the early run and allowing him to show that quality that he has got.”

Was the retaken penalty a stroke of luck?

I have not actually seen it back. As I have said, this season sometimes we have been harshly done by so on that side of it the referee has made the call and booked the keeper for moving off his line. That’s the rules, it could be a harsh one for Hoppy to take but we have been on the other end of some decisions this year so we are just pleased that we won.”
