16/10/10: JM - "the players they kept believing, kept doing the right things, going into the right areas and applying the pressure. We got what we deserved in the end."

Jim McIntyre was thrilled to win the match against Ross County:-

"It was a superb ending but it was a superb performance. I thought in the first half we were exceptional and it should have been game over at half time but we didn't take our chances. We knew we'd face a reaction from Ross County, they changed their shape and credit to them, they scored a great goal themselves.

"After that it was game on and they put us off our stride for the next ten minutes but the lads kept going, kept getting it wide and kept getting at them. They thoroughly deserved the win."

Macca might have felt that the winner that took until the 90th minute to come was not going to materialise:-

"The later it goes the more concerned you are but credit to the players they kept believing, kept doing the right things, going into the right areas and applying the pressure. We got what we deserved in the end."

The winner was scored by Steven McDougall who had replaced Pars top goalscorer Andy Kirk with twenty minutes remaining:-

"It was fantastic, his first touch was excellent because the ball was actually behind and he took it right through the two defenders and then finished with aplomb.

"I am very pleased with the way we are attacking teams and creating. We have that in our team with the players we have and the attack minded players that we have. Steven Bell is obviously a big threat from the midfield area as well. I am really pleased, if we had dropped two points today we would have been gutted because I don't think that would have been deserved."

Wullie Gibson was named Man of the Match and he was on fire against the Staggies:-

"When Wullie is on that type of game, and in the mood, he is unplayable. He is just a typical wide player - when they are on song they are very good. He is a conscientious boy Wullie, he works his backside off and wants to do well."

The fourth league game extends the good home form and keeps the Pars top of the table:-

"We have not been beaten at home this year; your home record is vital if you have any aspirations. We must do well at home and it was just great to see that last goal go in."

Ross County Manager, Derek Adams:-

"After getting it to 2-2 it was hugely disappointing to lose a goal with a minute to go.  I thought Dunfermline played very well today and although they scored a goal in the last minute, in the end they deserved to win the game.

"Gibson was probably the pick of their bunch and we couldn't handle him down the left hand side.  We changed things and in the second half he was a little bit quieter but he is a good player.

"We got back in the game at the start of the second half when we made it level.  That was important but to lose a goal in the last minute is always hard to take. It would have been hard on Dunfermline not to win the game.

"It is a good advert for the First Division, two good footballing sides but if you are the manager you want to be on the winning side and certainly not losing.  Dunfermline are top of the league; I know that they are in debt for a huge sum of money but they have had the budget over the years to do that and they have the infrastructure to be a Premierleague club and they should be there."
