Manager post Stirling Albion

John Potter was exacerbated when he arrived to speak to the media after his side's 2-2 draw at Stirling Albion.

"That was an unacceptable performance. In the first half I thought we are okay without being brilliant. We again had enough chances to be two or three in front but didn't do it. We got one up against ten men but the second half was unacceptable. They didn't do what they were told.

"We told them that we wanted to keep them going forward and try and press for more goals. We ended up keeping the ball, being slow and allowing Stirling back in the game.

"They were two terrible goals to lose from setpieces. There were boys not doing their jobs, it just want good enough."

Even when the Pars went ahead through an Allan Smith goal three minutes from half time it came immediately after Ross Forbes had headed off his own line.

"In the first half I did not think that we were great but we had chances. I think we had three in the first eight minutes but because we are not scoring, we keep allowing teams back into the game.

"We are not defending well enough at the moment. Their goals came from two long balls into our box. A corner kick and a long free kick - guys were not doing their jobs, it is as simple as that. The second half performance was just not good enough."

A point was salvaged when Lewis Martin rammed the ball home in the second minute of added time. Potter commented on the numerous chances that were kept out by Stirling Albion in the dying minutes:-

"At a corner just before it, it just seemed to go on forever. I just didn't think that it was going to go in the net but we got the goal. The only positive from today is that we didn't get beat. The performance was just not good enough.

"It was a poor result, you wouldn't think they were the ones with ten men. I do not think it is anything to do with fitness, it was just players out in the pitch not doing as they are told. It is simple as that and they have been told that in there.

"When I came in I told the boys that I would give everybody who is here a fair chance. I think I have done that in the first three games. There will be new faces and I have been speaking to people who I am hoping to get in. I think I should do that a little bit quicker this week because that is not good enough. We need to freshen things up and I will do that this week."

John Potter's first signing Jim Paterson from Forfar Athletic made his debut against Stirling. The manager felt that he had done okay:-

"He did well first half, he got in good areas and got good balls through to Allan Smith and Michael Moffat. In the second half he was a wee bit careless on the odd occasion but he was pretty solid I thought."
