Manager post Forfar

05/09/15: AJ- "We should have scored more goals, we had loads of chances.

Allan Johnston was on extremely good form when he spoke to the media after watching his side defeat Forfar Athletic convincingly on their own pitch for the second time in two and a half weeks:-

"I thought it was a really good team performance. You know hard a place this is to come but I thought we thoroughly deserved the win and could probably have scored a lot more goals."

Having relied so heavily on Faissal El Bakhtaoui and Michael Moffat to a certain extent, the manager was pleased to see Joe Cardle score a hat trick:-

"He is in incredible form just now, I think that is seven he has scored already this year. He is a real goal threat as well as creating goals as well. He is in a great vein of form.

"We should have scored more goals, we had loads of chances. To be fair to Forfar they threw their bodies on the line and although we had a lot of chances we could have been a little more clinical. I suppose you can't complain when you score four."

Reminded that Dick Campbell had suggested that at two up, Dunfermline shouldn't have been awarded a 63rd minute penalty, AJ replied:-

"It doesn't really matter does it? We could probably have scored six or seven if you look at it like that. I don't think the penalty affected the game one way or another. We have just got to make sure that we are fully focused next week. I saw Ayr play last week and they are a top team so it will be a really hard game."

With Dunfermline scoring 36 goals in their first nine competitive games, what was Allan Johnston's thoughts behind signing another striker - Mickael Antoine Curier - on the morning of the game?

"It is always good. He brings us something different. When you look at the strikers that we have got, they are all playing really well and it just keeps everybody on their toes when you have somebody of the quality of Curier coming in as well. He is a proven goalscorer but he will have to work hard to get into the team."
