Manager expects tough game

Heavy overnight rain in Dumfries but drizzle and mist will greet the Pars

Jim McIntyre

Jim McIntyre is looking forward to getting his team back in action after two weekends without a game:-

"Queen of the South have lost a few games recently but I watched them against St Johnstone last week and they did well to get a draw so they have broke the sequence of defeats. They will have taken a lot of confidence from that.

"They are a good side, the games against us are always quite close. They have good players, a good manager, it will be a difficult game.  Palmerston is a tough place to go at the best of times, but we have a good away record and we are looking forward to the game.

"We have done well against them and hopefully that can continue."

The Pars gaffer was very disappointed that the game last week in Dingwall was postponed.

"The Club went to a lot of expense to prepare properly, we went up the day before.  Clubs can't afford that type of money, games are off and we have to do it again.  It was very disappointing, but there were parts of the pitch, I was there myself, that were unplayable, but that's the Scottish weather I'm afraid."

Jim McIntyre has been watching the weather reports for the South of Scotland:-

"It looks like there is snow and rain predicted, but we will just have to wait and see.  They have the covers on the park and they are doing all they can to get the game on, but I expect it to be on."

The Manager confirmed that the only injury he has is Simon Wiles.  "Its great for me to have a strong bench."

I felt the game on Tuesday went ok, the first half was better than the second half.  Having to put Jordan in goals was never ideal, but credit to him he made a couple of good saves.  It was good to get people games, it was 90 minutes under their belts for several players who needed it."

The Manager would not be drawn on comments elsewhere that he could get three players in, but he has been actively looking at games in Scotland over the last few months.  Striker Rory Loy has joined the Pars on loan from Rangers.
