Manager Post Berwick

24/07/12 - JJ: "There was quality play with zip and the workrate was far better

Jim Jefferies and Gerry McCabe

Jim Jefferies felt that his players were a joy to watch in the pre season friendly against Berwick Rangers.

"We played some really good football and we should have beaten them by a lot more. Andy Kirk should have had four goals. We created chances galore. There was quality play with zip and the workrate was far better. I thought it was great tonight.

"This was against a team that gave Livingston a hard game and the difference we showed from our first game last week was a massive improvement."

Two foreign trialists played for Dunfermline

The Manager listed seven trialists in his squad although one of those was Alex Whittle whose registration is only held up awaiting International clearance. Of the others he enthused over the two young continentals who showed up really well in the last fifteen minutes of the game.

"The left back (Stephen Jordan) is a good player" claimed Jefferies. "He has not trained as much as the rest of them and hardly had any ball work. He reported for pre season training, his Club went away and he got left behind."

Stephen Husband and Jim Jefferies

Former Hearts midfielder Stephen Husband impressed again and the Pars gaffer is keen to have the player signed this week. The trialist keeper from Slovakia played the full 90 minutes and demonstrated that he could be a useful back up to Paul Gallacher.

"I thought Andy Geggan had a good game, there was a tenacity about him and Josh Falkingham played some great passes. Ryan Wallace should have scored two tonight. I wanted to see Jordan McMillan play in midfield so I didn't play Ryan Thomson because he has already played a good number of minutes in previous games."
