Former Pars forward passes away

Everyone at Dunfermline Athletic was saddened to hear about the passing of former Pars player Jimmy Millar.

Jimmy was signed by Dunfermline from Edinburgh juveniles, Merchiston Thistle in 1952 for £10 plus a £30 signing on fee, 18 year-old apprentice plumber Jimmy Millar made a scoring debut at inside-forward in a 2-1 win over Hamilton on 31st January 1953.

His 17 goals in 19 league matches brought him to the attention of other clubs and in January 1955 he was transferred to Rangers for a fee of £5,500.

12 years at Ibrox followed with three League titles, five Scottish Cups and three League Cups during his spell at Rangers.
