Happy return for Hardie

The East End Park crowd applauded Martin Hardie off the park when he was substituted in79 minutes. The fact that the appreciation was from both sets of fans was not missed by the player who became a legend in his own playing career while at Dunfermline. He talked about it after the match:-
"It is something, especially when it has not been a great result for the home fans. When you come off as a sub and you are getting applauses from your own fans and from your former team which is the home team, puts a smile across my face. I am glad to see that I am held in such high regard by their fans.
"It was a great three points for us and it shows that we have got into a winning habit. In the first half Dunfermline were probably the better side, we just couldn't get going and we weren't getting enough possession . Both penalties were a bit soft but they were both given, we scored from ours and they missed there's. So we went in 1-0 up at half time but came out and made sure that we played in their half rather than playing balls about the back."
Martin also had sympathy for the problems that some of his former team mates are encountering at the moment:-
"In any trade, whether a plumber, sparky or tradesman you need to earn your crust to take home and make sure that your family are getting looked after. Unfortunately it is through no fault of their own but I'm sure that Jim and Gerry and their squad will rally to make sure they can try and come out of it. It is a hard one for the players to go through this week in week out without a full payment of their wages."
Martin is surprised that Dunfermline have lost as many games recently and thought that they would have beaten Falkirk last week:-
"They still have some brilliant players in their squad and although they are still in there, I thought that they would have maintained a stronger challenge. They will still pick up points but most important for Morton is that we win games week after week."
