After two games Craig Reid is unbeaten and very happy to have signed for Dunfermline, a club he describes as a 'sleeping giant'.
"We played well in the first game and it was a great comeback last week against Ayr after going two goals down. To fight back 3-2 showed the fighting spirit in the squad. I have really enjoyed the first two games.
"It was a big test for us to go two down, to respond the way we did shows that we never give up. There is confidence in the squad to believe that they could still go on and win the game. The sending off helped and the goal before half time was a good time to score.
"We still had to go out in the second half attack, try to pin them back and be patient. We got the goals and ended up seeing the game out comfortably."
Craig arrived at East End Park to be re-united with former playing colleagues Allan Johnston, John Potter and David Hutton. Joe Cardle is well known as a regular opponent and Sean Murdoch was a team mate in the Scotland under 19s.
"It is good to see faces that you know and it makes it easier. I felt very welcome and started the two games. I have been comfortable with what I have been asked to do in the team. I have got to know the players quickly and how they like to play. I like to attack and keep the ball. It suits my game as well."
Craig was happy to drop down to League One in the great expectation that promotion is achievable at the end of this season. The 30 year old defender was also attracted by what he described as a "good big fan base".
"You play the game to win things but it is a massive club that should not be in this league. I am happy to come here and be part of it. To hopefully get the club back to where they belong is a big pull for me."
As an opponent with Morton and Queen of the South, East End Park was always a good place to play and he had no hesitation when full time football was offered at Dunfermline:-
"It is a nice big stadium and I always enjoyed coming here. I wanted to stay full time but I have never played at this level before, it has always been Championship or above. It doesn't faze me at all, the club is well run. You can see how professional it is through from Sports Scientist with Gary and heart rate monitors checking all the data, the team meetings before the games, the tactics and the night before the game we get videos of the opposition to watch personally.
"It is a massive club and probably the sleeping giant of Scottish football. They should be in a higher league. The whole package was an attraction and I came here to try and win things as well. Hopefully this is the season when we can take a step towards where we want to be."
