Jordan Moore:- "To be honest, I didn't perform too well when I was at Airdrie

They say football can be a funny old game and it is certainly a strange quirk of fate that the last time Airdrie played at East End Park, on loan Dundee United striker Jordan Moore was one of the Pars opponents. He was in the Airdrie team that defeated Dunfermline 2-1 and consigned them to the First Division play offs. The perhaps not so funny aspect is that not many recall his 61 minute involvement in the game. Within a minute of coming off however his substitute Willie McLaren had struck a 30 yarder that was ultimately the winning goal.

The 19 year old striker recalled his first taste of First Division football at East End Park:-

"To be honest, I didn't perform too well when I was at Airdrie so I'm looking forward to Saturday and showing them what I can do. I didn't play that well the day we played Dunfermline, so I don't think many people would have noticed me!"

Jordan played nine games for the Diamonds and scored two goals. He expanded on his ten weeks at Airdrie:-

"I started off well when I was Airdrie and scored on my debut against Hamilton, which was great. But I only scored one more goal after that and didn't play too much. We didn't win a game until we beat Dunfermline in the last game of the season, it was about 10 games in before we managed to win."

Since his Dundee United manager Jackie McNamara fixed up his loan to Dunfermline, Jordan has grown increasingly important to Jim Jefferies team:-

"The gaffer at United phoned the youth coach here at Dunfermline when we were travelling back from a game one day and he just said: 'Come into Dunfermline tomorrow and see how it is'. Right away I just signed until January, and it's been good so far. Jackie McNamara has been really good to me, he's a really nice guy and he's a great coach. Everybody really respects him a lot and I think Dundee United will come good and start picking up more wins.

"I still go in training with Dundee United on a Wednesday if we have a day off here, so Jackie knows everything what goes on. He's seen what I can do and he still speaks to everybody here, so it would be nice if I could get my chance up there. He came to the Falkirk game as well so he saw the boys who are on loan from United play, so he's happy with what's happening."

Jordan was at Tannadice on Tuesday night to watch Dunfermline under 20s take on their United equivalents. His loyalties must have been challenged with friends on both sides:-

"People are saying I'm Dunfermline through and through now - don't tell the United boys that though! It was a tight game, there weren't many chances but a draw was probably a fair result."

The striker is hoping to get his home tally off the mark on Saturday when he comes up against Airdrie and is keen to contribute to the Pars progress. He added:-

"We've started the season really well and we're still sitting second in the league so we can't complain about that. From a personal point of view, I've scored three goals in the last four games, so it's not too bad. Hopefully that can continue."

The players have continually acknowledged the fans assistance and support but for the two back to back home games against Airdrie and Ayr, it is hoped that the fans will turn out in their numbers again:-

"The crowd have been brilliant anyway and there's always a lot of fans but it would be brilliant if even more came out. These are two massive games for us to be fair. I try not to take too much notice of what's been happening off the park - maybe the boys who were here last year do more than me, but we just need to do good things on the pitch. The more games we win, it eases the pain of the money side of things if we're winning."
