Centenary Club Lifeline Update 04 September 2020

Since the relaunch of the Centenary Club Lifeline in 2013 we have donated over £1.3m to Dunfermline Athletic Football Club. This has only been possible due to the tremendous support of our members. This money has supported the club on a daily basis via various channels.

Our committee has worked tirelessly to attract and retain members as we know how important the money is to the club. It has been apparent in recent years the difficulties and challenges there are running a Championship football club. A very difficult season in 2018-19 almost completely wiped out the club’s cash reserve. This has been a huge pressure on our Board of Directors.

As a Lifeline committee we have met with the Chairman and Vice Chairman and believe this is the right decision and heralds an exciting time for the club and all our supporters. We very much welcome the investment from DAFC Fußball GmbH and look forward to meeting them soon.

DAFC Fußball GmbH acknowledge the great history of our football club and the huge potential we have. The group are not only investing equity capital into the club but also bringing expertise and desire to develop the football club on and off the pitch.

With this in mind, this does not diminish the importance of the Centenary Club Lifeline, far from it. DAFC Fußball GmbH were attracted to our community spirit and the support from fans via the various supporter’s organisations.

This exciting investment from DAFC Fußball GmbH will support key infrastructure in the football club however, the club will continue to require the same support from our fans via the Centenary Club Lifeline membership. In the Q&A section of the Board’s statement they have stressed that the Centenary Club Lifeline continues to be a vital part of the club`s future. The money raised will support the club to progress in the direction we all want to go - and that’s getting back to playing Premiership football.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support to this point and for the support you will continue to pledge going forward. Our committee will continue to work hard to ensure we can remain the envy of many in Scottish football.

If you are not yet a member and interested in joining, please do not hesitate fill out the online application form via- www.dafclifeline.co.uk

We hope our members are as excited by this development as we are.
