Calum Woods Post Celtic

Monday, 8th Feb 2010

"I enjoyed the game against tough opposition and I thought we did really well in the first half.

Dunfermline v Celtic

Calum Woods left East End Park on crutches but he is optimistic that he will be fit for the next match at Dingwall on Saturday:-

"It was just a little bit of cramp in my calf but I should be alright." The 23 year old who hadn't started a game for exactly three months was off having treatment for cramp when Celtic were awarded their 68th minute penalty:-

"I was trying to get on but the ref didn't look over."

Calum was a late substitute at Firhill on 23rd January when he scored the fourth Pars goals. Other than that he has just had two closed doors matches so he was delighted to get the start that made up for all the hassles of the last three weeks:-

"I enjoyed the game against tough opposition and I thought we did really well in the first half. Obviously we know we are going to have to rely on the counterattack most of the game. We stuck to the task really well in the first half but second half they got a couple of chances."

The former Liverpool player was pleased to play against a player he had admired so much in the reds strip:-

"Robbie Keane is a top class player but that's what we were up against today."

Calum supplied the balls that led up to both the Pars goals:-

"I played the long ball over the top that Nick got on to for a good cross in for Davie (Graham) to finish well. At the penalty incident I cut inside and crossed with my left foot. Bell did really well and we got a penalty for it.

"It was looking really well for us at two one up but it wasn't to be. We showed that we can play some good football and what we are capable of."
