Andy wants to end home hoodoo

Friday, 27th Apr 2012

"We go out to win every game but we know what is at stake with so few games left.

ANDY BARROWMAN

Andy Barrowman is hoping its payback time against Aberdeen after their keeper denied him a second goal that would given the Fifers a three goal cushion on the Dons last trip to Dunfermline.

Back in November, Andy scored in the ninth minute of the second half, a goal that equalised Andrew Considine's opener in the second minute of time added on at the end of the first half. Then with the Pars 3-1 ahead with 11 minutes remaining he met a cut back from Liam Buchanan to direct the ball on target but Dons keeper David Gonzalez turned the ball on to his post to prevent the Pars going 4-1 up.

DUNFERMLINE v ABERDEEN 1-1

"We should have beaten Aberdeen the last time they came here. I couldn't believe it. I was stretching a bit but managed to get something on it. I don't think the keeper knew much about it or how it stayed out. The ball hit the post but that's the way that it has gone for us this season. If that had gone in I couldn't see them coming back from that. It wasn't to be that day.

"We were 3-1 up and lost two goals in the last goals in the last nine minutes. That's the closest we have come to getting a win at home. We really should have won that day because we were by far the better team, especially in the second half. We will look to put that right on Saturday.

"Aberdeen have nothing to play for now so maybe we can take advantage of that. At the end of the day it is all about what we do. There will be no better day to get that hoodoo off our back on Saturday."

Andy Barrowman injured at Motherwell

Andy Barrowman knows that any sort of victory is what Dunfermline really need right now. The 27 year old striker came on at St Mirren last weekend but because of injury he has not started a match since sustaining a calf injury at Fir Park 24th January. He reflected on his 12 minutes after coming on as a sub:-

"After being down 3-1 and then 4-2 it felt like a point gained. To come back showing the spirit that we did, closed the gap since Hibs got beat on Sunday. It is now on to the next game.

ANDY BARROWMAN v ABERDEEN

"I have played a couple of bounce games and been back in training for the best part of two weeks. I am feeling sharp again and just want to be involved.

"We need to look to win every game and with Hibs playing on the Sunday hope to put a bit of pressure on them. We could use that to our advantage; we go out to win every game but we know what is at stake with so few games left. We will definitely be going for the three points on Saturday."
