"We knew that they'd come and shut up shop. Basically they didn't allow us space, especially around the box they were outnumbering us.

"We are bitterly disappointed with the way the result went today.  We thought we had done enough to edge the game and possibly get the three points but their keeper made a couple of good saves that kept them in it. We didn't get the rub of the green that we deserved; we haven't had for a few weeks now but we need to keep plugging away and hopefully get the result next week.

"We knew that they'd come and shut up shop.  Basically they didn't allow us space, especially around the box they were outnumbering us. They fought hard but we didn't get that bit of luck."

Adam's luck was out when St Mirren keeper Chris Smith made a double save from Hamilton and Crawford and the ball broke left for him:-

"The keeper pulled off a great double save and it came tro me and I just lashed at it. I should have buried it but sometimes they go in sometimes they don't. I saw a little gap and just tried to hit it as hard as I could.

"It was an off day for all of us, our shooting wasn't up to scratch. We didn't take enough opportunities. No one lacked effort, that was all there for the crowd to see.  We must keep pushing on and hopefully we will get something.

"A win would have given us a better opportunity and we have left a hard task for us to stay up. All the players believe that we can still do it.  The Manager and ourselves believe that if we can get the three points next week we would be breathing on St Mirren's back again."

Adam hasn't missed the fact that with St Mirren's fixture against Hibs next weekend being postponed because of the CIS Insurance Cup Final there is an opportunity to close the gap:- "We could put the ball in their court".

The larger support for The Pars was praised by the players with Adam adding:-

"They are always loud and we do appreciate them coming out in their numbers and getting behind us.  All we can ask is that they keep doing it until the last kick of the game. Hopefully we will give them something to shout about."

Relegation battles are not something that you'd expect a Liverpool player to know much about:-

"This is my first season in professional footballer. I think we went for the long ball in the end rather than taking the approach where we could pass it around and get the overlap. We panicked a bit .

"It seems like a defeat.  We will have to pick ourselves up, the belief is still there until it is mathematically impossible. we have a never-say-die attitude and will give 110% until the last kick of the game."
