When Lewis McCann joined Dunfermline, the eighteen year old striker was still a pupil at the Royal High School in Edinburgh. He joined Dunfermline on a two year deal despite having been attached to Raith Rovers while at Fife Elite.
Lewis made his debut at 17 years of age as a sub in the Betfred Cup match v Peterhead on 7 July 2018. Starting debut 14 August 2018 against Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Challenge Cup and got his first goals (two) on 20 November 2021 in the Championship match at home to Ayr United.
Lewis was ten years at Hutchieson Vale before joining Hearts for a year and then moving on to Fife Elite for two seasons. He played striker at Hutchy, was a left midfielder at Hearts and first year with Fife Elite before been deployed at striker again.
At six foot two Lewis rates his greatest strength as his finishing. He is quick, right footed and no surprise, he is good in the air.
Craig Easton was his coach at Raith where he played on a Tuesday or Wednesday. At Fife Elite the games were on a Sunday and his coaches there were Grant Petrie and Robert O’Neill.
Made six appearances for Northern Ireland at U19 level and three when called up to the U21 squad for the internationals in September 2019. He added a further U21 cap when he played against Scotland in Dumbarton on June 2021.
As at 31/05/23 Lewis had made 102 Dunfermline appearances with 53 of those as a substitute.
