Players, Staff & Fans support The Community Heating Project

Dunfermline Athletic FC have been pleased to work with The Community Heating Project over the last few months.

Following a mixture of private donations, match day bucket collections, and donations from the first team squad and staff we have raised enough funds to install a brand-new boiler system in the home of a member of our local community.

DAFC Captain Kyle Benedictus, speaking on behalf of the squad commented: “We were only too pleased to help contribute to this fund. We do really believe in our true sporting values not only existing on a Saturday afternoon but throughout the community that supports us, so giving something back is the least we can do.”

The recipient of the new boiler system, Rachel Baines commented: “The problems with my boiler began a few years ago and have gradually worsened over time. Unfortunately, I was not able to make major repairs or afford a replacement.

As the issues persisted, I became increasingly concerned. Recently, the boiler has been making loud clanging sounds at night, causing sleepless nights, and adding to my worries.

We are a family of Pars fans, with members in the community and girl’s teams. My brother-in-law saw a post about this new boiler and to see it now installed is amazing and will help my family massively.”

DAFC would also like to thank Beverley and the team at City Plumbing Supplies Rosyth, who supported the project with the donation of the boiler and several key components for the refurbishment, and RGM Heating whose engineers undertook the work.

Graeme Robertson, Community Heating Project, “I can’t thank Dunfermline Athletic enough for their help and generosity with this initiative, from players to staff, fans, and the bucket collectors who have all contributed massively. Together, we managed to help Rachel who was having a tough year, and ensure that she and her children, had working heating and hot water. Stories like this are reasons why I started The Community Heating Project and will continue to help the local community.”

Whilst one installation has been funded so far, we will continue to work with the project to raise awareness and the funds to help more supporters. You can donate to the community heating project through their Go Fund Me page.
