Chris Kane Joins On Loan

Dunfermline Athletic are pleased to welcome forward Chris Kane to KDM Group East End Park, on loan from St Johnstone for the remainder of the season.

Chris is a former McDiarmid Park team-mate of Pars’ assistant manager, Dave Mackay.

Chris Kane came through the youth system at St Johnstone and he has made 244 appearances for the Saints scoring 37 goals. Over his time there he has had short loan spells at Dumbarton and Queen of the South (August 2017-January 2018).

St Johnstone won the Scottish Cup in 2021 after Chris famously scored a late late equaliser against Rangers at Ibrox in 120th minute of the quarter final. The Perth side won through on 4-2 penalties. That led to the League Cup and Scottish Cup double for Callum Davidson’s Saints.

In 2013/14 season he joined Dumbarton on-loan in December for the remainder of the campaign. Chris spent the first half of season 2014/2015 again on-loan at Dumbarton, netting 15 goals in 21 appearances.

In February 2015, Chris won the SPFL Young Player of the Month for January and his outstanding performances saw him rewarded with a new contract at McDiarmid Park.  In August 2017, Chris joined Scottish Championship side Queen of the South on loan until January 2018.

In total Chris has made 294 senior appearances and scored 57 goals.  This season the 29-year-old signed a half-season contract at St Johnstone in the summer and then again in December.
