Willie Renton

Although he began with Lochore Welfare, Willie Renton played for St Johnstone, and St Mirren before arriving at East End in 1968, supposedly as a replacement for Celtic-bound Tom Callaghan.

A first-team regular over the next couple of seasons, Willie was released early in 1970/71 when he refused to attend training after a row with George Farm.  Following spells with non-league Chelmsford and Fourth Division Barrow, his career ended after a short period at Cowdenbeath.
