What's in toe for Scully

"We should have had this wrapped up a couple of weeks ago.

Ryan Scully is set to make his 39th appearance for Dunfermline in the League One match against Brechin City but as he attempts to ensure Dunfermline's qualification for the end of season play offs, the club he is on loan from, Partick Thistle are in a fight at the foot of the Premiership to avoid a play off against the Championship qualifier.

It  is his own foot that has been concerning him and the club physio though since he dislocated a toe in his left foot against Rangers two weeks ago. He ruled out his dislocated middle toe impeding his ability to start on Saturday:-

"My foot is actually alright. I rested up again at the start of the week, it was just one of those things. You have to rest it and hope for the best. The toe came back out again on Saturday which wasn't great but I just need to strap it up and play on with it. It gets strapped to the other toe and put a cushion on it to steady it.

"I cleared the ball and it popped back out as I went down. It wasn't pleasant and had to be put back in on the pitch. It wasn't until the next day until it started hurting. Bad enough once but you don't want it to happen a second time. I didn't think that it would really happen again.

"It is not really sore to be fair and doesn't stop me playing the game. It is just one of those stupid things that happen and I just need to get on with it."

Kenny Murray fixes the dislocated toe again!

Ryan sorely wants to make up for last Saturday's home defeat at the hands of local rivals East Fife.  Another home game is the team's chance to make amends, the 21 year old keeper continued:-

"Our performance is the most disappointing thing about last week. You can't say that too much about the boys this season but obviously this Saturday we have to prove that we can get to winning ways. I think that is four games in a row now since we won. We need to get the three points and the performance back on Saturday."

Second place is the goal for Dunfermline but with eight league games reamaining even a play off place is not yet assured. Ryan admitted:-

"We should have had this wrapped up a couple of weeks ago. We need to get a wee run together that would allow us to rest a few players."

RYAN SCULLY

Whatever happens in the Pars run up to the end of the season, Ryan has no idea where he will be playing his football next season:-

"Nothing has been sorted out yet." he said.  "We need to wait until the end of the season to find out. I am enjoying it here but it is up to Thistle what they want to do with me at the end of the season. I will play each game as it comes, I cannot really think about it too much until the end of the season. This is my last year at Thistle.

"I think Thistle have enough to get out of the play off position. They are probably the strongest team out of them all, they need a few results."

While Ryan wishes Thistle to get out of a play off position, he wants Dunfermline to get into one.

"They are two different scenarios but hopefully both teams can do the business."
