MATCH PICTURESThe Pars Under 19s squad kicked off their pre season matches with a win over the local amateurs at the Fleet Ground, Rosyth last night. Connor Shivone`s skills in the centre circle to ward off two challengers culminated in a fine through ball that John McDonald ran on to. McDONALD rattled the ball in off the far post to make it 1-0 after 12 minutes.
Two minutes later a Rees Smith cross from the left was netted by Jordan WHITE. Civil Service got one back mid way through the first half crashing in off the crossbar from the edge of the box.
White set up Shivone with a good opportunity but the shot was well off target. McDonald had another chance while at the other end defensive errors gave Civil Service chances of their own, the best being blasted off Blair McWhirter for a corner.
McDonald drove towards the penalty box before releasing the ball to White on his left. The tall striker unselfishly laid the ball off for Ryan THOMSON to beat the keeper with a low drive from the edge of the box. That made it 3-1 at the break.
From the restart the Rosyth team contained the youngsters and Barry Arnot was unfortunate when a free kick in from the left was knocked down for him to turn on target just eight yards out but Pars keeper Craig Reid pulled off a fine save.
The tide then really came in for Dunfermline. WHITE made it 4-1 in 74 minutes after Thomson`s shot was blocked and spun to the striker. White did the difficult bit to supply McDONALD just two minutes later and he despatched goal number five.
A swift counterattack three minutes from time saw WHITE complete his hat trick with great assisting work from Lawrie Cannon. Then McDONALD achieved his after Smith`s cross had travelled through the box for him to complete the scoring in 88 minutes.
