Three Bells

"It was the first hat-trick of my career so I am delighted. The first goal was a good finish from myself, the second goal was a great ball from Nicky Phinn and the third goal was the penalty.

Steven Bells Three Bells

Steven Bell spoke after his three goals contributed to Dunfermline's 4-1 win over Morton to give them 12 points out of twelve from matches against the Greenock side this season:-

"It was the first hat-trick of my career so I am delighted. The first goal was a good finish from myself, the second goal was a great ball from Nicky Phinn and the third goal was the penalty. I think the goalie was unlucky not to save it to be fair."

The opportunity to take the added time penalty came Steven's way since none of the other regularly nominated players were on the park when Steve Conroy pointed to the spot:-

"I practice them in training and hit one a couple of weeks ago against Queen of the South. I changed my mind at the last minute but the gaffer has just said to me that the only time that he changed his mind at the last minute he has missed it. So I was quite lucky but I saw the goalkeeper take a step to his left and I was just going to put it into the right so I thought 'maybe he has seen it in my eyes'. Obviously he read me so I was quite lucky it went in.

"Funnily enough Willie Gibson said to me at half time 'if there is a penalty don't even bother trying to get the ball' because he was on them. I have Andy Kirk ahead of me on penalties, Stephen Glass and Willie Gibson - I am just lucky that they were all off the park. I did run and grab the ball - I was delighted when he gave the penalty.

Steven Bell celebrates hattrick

"That's eleven goals now this season. I was hoping for double figures and I started off well scoring three or four in the first few games but I hit a wee dip. In the last couple of months I started hitting them in again.

Graeme Holmes celebrates with Steven Bell

"With lots of small boys in the team, the gaffer is always encouraging me to make late runs into the box. That's why he brought me here and I have scored a couple of headers this season that I am glad about."
