"We clung on at times but when the game opened up towards the end of the game we could have finished it a few times."

Tam McManus is now at his seventh Scottish club but with two goals in three games he is fast gaining popularity down on the Clyde coast. Speaking after the match on Saturday he recalled his goal in front of the McCathie stand, his first at East End Park since scoring the winner against Dundee United on 21st April 2007:-

"Rocky Visconte did well cutting inside and I have just managed to get a flick on it off my shin pads. I don't know what happened after that but it went into the net. I am delighted for the team to come to Dunfermline and get three points. It is a very hard place to come and Dunfermline are a good side.

"We clung on at times but when the game opened up towards the end of the game, we could have finished it a few times."

Tam McManus is just one of several former Pars to come back to haunt Dunfermline in recent seasons although Tam claimed that he had done the same to Dundee:-

"A couple of weeks ago up at Dundee I scored on my debut, it is going alright for me but most important thing is to get wins. We came up here and got in their faces to grit out a 1-0, it's a great result. We have seen Dunfermline a few times; they get it wide and have good players. Wee Alex Burke sitting in the midfield, is one of the best players in the division and wee Nicky Phinn is a great player as well. We just needed to get in their faces, soak it up and try and hit on the break. We never got many chances but we suck one away."

The striker who turns 28 next Sunday, has not played much since leaving Stephen Kenny's Derry City in November:-

"I am just getting my legs back but goals are coming for me now and hopefully that can continue."
