Stephen Kenny talked about his team's second successive successful Monday night:-

"I was quite pleased with the first half. There was some terrific interchanges and the midfield were tremendous today. Stephen and Gary in midfield were very influential for us in the first half. Adam Hammill and Jim O'Brien were linking with the front players and there was lots of movement and it was very creative. I am pleased with that.

"Second half, obviously we got the penalty and Motherwell were a bit unfortunate to lose the man. At that point we switched off, that was to the detriment of us and I was disappointed with that aspect. 3-0 up against ten men should have given us the impetus to go and pass the ball like we had against eleven but once we played against ten there was a bit of inexperience. Players are not used to being 3-0 up and some young players switched off a little.

"As a result we conceded a bit of ground and conceded a goal and more to my concern had Scott Wilson sent off. That I am disappointed about; it looked a harsh one as well.

"We got the fourth and I think that is a fair margin on the night.

"We must aspire to win all of our games. We have Inverness away next which is a difficult one for us but we are playing with a lot of confidence at the moment and the players are playing extremely well."

From being a two dog fight against relegation, the win over Motherwell make it possible for Dunfermline to overhaul the Steelmen, Stephen agreed "It is quite possible now that they are in the equation, they can't be ruled out."

Reflecting on the loss of Scott Wilson for the Inverness match as he serves a one match suspension for his 86th minute red card against Motherwell, the Manager recognised a bit of deja vu:-

"He is a big player for us but previously he missed two games through suspension - Hibernian in the league at home and semi final replay at Hampden. We kept two clean sheets as Phil McGuire and Sol Bamba were excellent. These are things that we have the ability to cope with."

Is there more chance of catching St Mirren than Motherwell?

"It is difficult to say. We just have to concentrate on ourselves - Inverness and Falkirk are our last two games. We play Inverness away, that will be a tough game for us and we will need to prepare well for it."
