Dunfermline Athletic

Preview Stranraer

Thursday, 27th Feb 2014

Of the eight matches Stranraer have only won once. The Pars have won four of their last five matches.

Weather closed in at Stranraer

This Saturday its Stranraer re-visited.  The first trip to the south west was wet and wild so hopefully the weather will be a bit more settled but we will take the same result.  As closest play off contenders in terms of points a win would put further distance between the clubs and so the Pars target a win to increase the points gap to 20.

Prior to this season it was April 1995 when Dunfermline Athletic last travelled to Stranraer for a league match and it is 21 meetings back since Stranraer last won against the Pars.  In fact out of 37 fixtures between the two, the Galloway opposition have won just twice but both those wins were at Stair Park.

Stranraer came close to taking the scalp of Inverness Caley Thistle in the Scottish Cup when they went to Stair Park at the start of the month but their last home win was against Ayr United on 4th January. Indeed of the eight matches since then they have only won once. The Pars have won four of their last five matches and have beaten Stranraer three times this season, albeit on every meeting it has been a closely contested game.
