The Ladbrokes Championship fixture card set up the first New Year Derby against Raith Rovers since 2013. The Pars have won three of the last six New Year meetings but their last first foot win at Starks Park was in 1989 although that is only three away fixtures back. The scorers that day in a 3-1 win were Trevor Smith, Ross Jack and an own goal.

This meeting sees Dunfermline in seventh place take on fifth placed Raith. Seven points separate the teams but Dunfermline view this first fixture of the second half of the season as a great opportunity to close the gap between them and the teams above.

The Pars best win at Stark`s Park was over 22 years ago in October 1994 when Stewart Petrie and Kenny Ward hit doubles and Hamish French hit the net in a 5-2 win. The last Pars win at Stark`s Park was a 3-1 in November 2012. That was an eventful match as Allan Walker and Dougie Hill were shown red.

In the last dozen league fixtures the Pars have won six of them, Raith three and three have ended all square. Dunfermline have only won once in their last five trips to Kirkcaldy.

At Starks Park earlier this season in August, the Pars went down 2-0 to Gary Locke`s team when two goal in eight minutes late in the second half saw off Allan Johnston`s side`s challenge. Bobby Barr opened the scoring in 71 minutes and Mark Stewart added a second to complete a miserable day for Dunfermline.

Last Win at Starks Park
Saturday 17th November 2012

This was a remarkable match in which Raith Rovers were forced to play the
entire second half was just nine men. . The hosts took the lead from an Allan Walker free kick. When the ball was lofted in former Par Pat CLARKE jumped high above the defence to head the ball past Paul Gallacher. 1-0

Stephen HUSBAND`s low free kick got the Pars back on level terms. Dougie Hill was shown yellow for chopping down Ryan Wallace and the 25 yard free kick was driven low through the Raith wall to beat keeper Ross Laidlaw at his right hand post. 1-1

Walker was red carded and the Hill was shown a second yellow in the tunnel at
half time. A Joe CARDLE strike flew into the Pars net from the left corner of the box to put the Pars ahead just two minutes into the second 45 but it took until and two minutes from time before HUSBAND slotted in his second of the afternoon to finish it at 3-1.
