"Fife Police are reminding football fans to travel safe ahead of Saturday's game at East End Park"

Statement from Fife Police:-

"Fife Police are reminding football fans to travel safe ahead of Saturday's game at East End Park, Dunfermline where Raith Rovers are the visitors.

Match commander for the game, Chief Inspector Bob Baker said: "I would remind fans that tickets for the game are sold out. Clearly there will be no tickets for sale at the turnstiles so I would ask those without tickets not to come to the game. We are fully expecting a large, good humoured crowd and I have no doubt that they will come with the intention of enjoying the occasion of this local derby. We have been planning for the game with the clubs and locally in the run up to the game to ensure the safety of fans and the public generally. Policing will be increased in the Dunfermline area as would be expected and these extra resources will be deployed well into the evening to ensure people can come and enjoy the facilities Dunfermline has to offer.

"I would ask that people make appropriate travel arrangements and as parking is at a premium, to take advantage of public transport where possible. Leave plenty of time when travelling so that you arrive at the stadium in plenty of time to find parking if you must travel by car. Due to the numbers of supporters attending the ground the turnstiles will be open earlier than normal at 1.30pm and I would encourage people to attend early to avoid queues near to kick off.

For those passing through Dunfermline on Saturday afternoon anticipate busy traffic before and after the football game and take alternative routes if possible." "
