Paul Gallacher Post Dundee

Saturday, 15th Sep 2007

"I am happy to make the save. It is obviously important that we have not lost the game, that has contributed to that. We are disappointed not win the game but to make a save and keep it level is pleasing for myself.

Paul Gallacher was the Pars hero at Dens Park when his penalty save 13 minutes from time prevented Dundee taking all three league points, three points that would have opened up an eleven point gap between the teams. He was also desperately unlucky when a deflection off Aaron Labonte handed the Dens Park team the equaliser:-

"The deflection was disappointing.I felt it was going well wide and it was unfortunate that the boy stuck his foot out, I don't know who it was.It took a deflection. It was a tough one to take but we have got character in that team there to bounce back."

The Pars had bounced back really well, launching themselves at Dundee after the break but when Calum Woods clipped Paul Dixon Referee Steve Conroy had few dissenters when he pointed to the penalty spot:-

"I am happy to make the save. It is obviously important that we have not lost the game, that has contributed to that.  We are disappointed not win the game but to make a save and keep it level is pleasing for myself.

"They are one of the so called bigger teams that we are up against so we don't want to get beat when we are up against them.  Hopefully we will be challenging them in the many months to come.

"Not to lose to today is fantastic. We want to get as many points as possible, we are disappointed not to get three.

Hamilton are now twelve points ahead of Dunfermline, Dundee eight points above Dunfermline.  Paul responded to the news of a Hamilton win:-

"Wait and see at the half way point just how far off the top we are. The poor start has given us a mountain to climb but we are creating more clear-cut chances and on another day they go in the back of the net.

"Our football today was great to watch and it is good to be part of a team like that. If we can continue in that manner and hopefully chip in a few goals then we should be there or thereabouts at the end of the campaign."
