Although he has been loaned out to East Fife until 3rd January, Paul Willis is still very much in Jim Jefferies plans and the Pars gaffer looks forward to getting him back for the second part of the season.

"It will be like getting a new player. He needs regular games because he is a bit inconsistent at the moment. It is nothing to do with anything that happened recently. He was exonerated from that; he is a terrific laddie and he will improve if I can get him regular games.

"He is only 21 and he will come back in January. As long as he keeps his form up and plays well, he will be in the East Fife team every week. Paul is only out there to get games. Players are happier when they are playing. He will train with us and on the days he trains with them he will not be in with us." Paul played all 90 minutes in his East Fife debut but lost 2-1 at home to Albion Rovers.

Paul Burns has returned to Queen of the South bringing to an end his Dunfermline career that lasted just 14 months. Jim Jefferies reported that the player signed for Queen of the South on the final evening of the transfer window.

"He and I had a chat and obviously given the new players that I had brought in, everybody is different. I said that he could stay if he wanted and he came to see me. Then I got a call from Queen of the South who we got him from. He is a big favourite down there so we had to make it happen on Friday night.

"We wish him all the best, he is a terrific pro he never caused the slightest problem. He will be disappointed at not getting the opportunity to play regularly and that is all that it is about."
