01/01/13: DAFC Board thank all fans, sponsors, advertisers and staff

East End Park
New Year Message from the Board of DAFC

The Board of DAFC would like to take this opportunity to thank the Manager, the players and the backroom staff for giving 100% throughout the season and also to thank all our fans, sponsors and advertisers for their continued loyalty and support over the year.

The last few months have been we feel the most challenging faced by any Board of Directors at DAFC and the Board would especially like to thank all the fans who have rallied behind the club. In particular the assistance shown by the Pars Alive group and Centenary Club in contributing funds directly in to the club to assist with the payments to the Under 20's in November and in assisting us to make substantial inroads to our outstanding utilities bills. As a result discussions are already ongoing to get DAFC back on to normal tariffs which will make a huge saving for the club.

DAFC successfully managed to make a further payment of £40,000 to HMRC at the end of December towards its arrears plus month 8 PAYE was paid in full and on time. There is still an amount outstanding; this remains a key priority for the Board to have this cleared as soon as possible.

The support of the Purvis Group has been invaluable and their continued practical help and support will assist us to achieve our cost cutting targets.

The Board had an extremely productive and constructive meeting with representatives of the Pars Alive group and we would like to stress we want to keep all lines of communication open between ourselves and fans.  We plan to have further meetings shortly to discuss the proposed share issue and fans representation.

The Boards aims for the remainder of the season are clear:

1.Clear our outstanding HMRC arrears

2.Get our utilities back to normal tariff

3.Raise further capital through our proposed Share Issue

4.Continue to reduce our creditors

5.Continue to keep the lines of communication open with the fans

The Board fully support the Manager and the players to perform as well as possible and we will do whatever we can to help achieve success on the park.  However the priority is clear to get our own house in order first and anything the players can achieve will be a welcome bonus.

All of the staff at DAFC receives our gratitude for working tirelessly over the last couple of months whilst having to deal with delays in their salaries. Their support and commitment has been hugely appreciated.

Looking forward to 2013 we hope to be in a much more stable position moving forward - we do still have a couple of bumpy months ahead but with the ongoing support from the fans by the end of the season we fully expect to be in a much more stable situation once more. With our sincere gratitude, we wish our supporters and fans everywhere a very happy and prosperous New Year
