Jim McIntyre was delighted to register a home win over Queen of the South for the first time since August 2008. Speaking after the match he said:-

"I am very pleased to stop the rot of Queens coming here and winning; they have won the last four here including the cup games. That was pleasing and I thought we deserved the victory.

"We edged it although we have our keeper to thank for a fine save at a crucial period in the game. We warned that they would get a rocket at half time and they came at us in the second half. We said that if we could get the next goal then that would take care of the game but Queens got it and they had us under a lot of pressure without cutting us open too many times. They had a lot more of the ball and their chance came from a slack back pass from us. There was a great save from Greg Fleming and obviously we went on and got the third goal."

The Dunfermline boss was unhappy with the red card shown to Calum Woods two minutes from the end:-

"It was just an honest challenge but I'd have to see it on the video again. I am devastated at losing Calum Woods to suspension because I thought he was excellent. Now we are going to lose one of our players when we have a bit of an injury crisis as it is. We have lost Willie Gibson out there today with a groin strain and the last thing we need is boys getting sent off when they don't deserve to be."

Red Card for Calum Woods v Queen of the South

Queen of the South Manager, Gordon Chisholm was more upset by his team's poor first half performance:-

"When you are trying to get up there to challenge, you can't have the first 45 minutes that we gave today. The two goals were dreadful; poor defending. I don't think we played in the first half but even then if you don't play you don't expect to give away two schoolboy goals like that.

"It made it very difficult for the second half. I spoke to them at half time and we did come out and try and get a hold of the ball and make passes. There was a difference and Leon (Knight) missed a right good chance before we got back into it. There was a spell there where we had a wee chance again but we were disappointed in the end."
