Dunfermline totally dominated the first half and were so far in front that Jim Jefferies thought they should have been ahead at half time.

"It was the same old story from previous games, we should have been a couple up. We missed a couple of great chances and we were in control of the match. Falkirk will always be dangerous on the break but I thought we totally dominated.

"I knew Peter Houston would get them in there and give them a bit of stick. I told them that at half time and I said that we need to make sure that we respond because he will get a reaction from them.

"We have come out like we have done before. It is not through lack of hard work, it is through not being switched on, not being determined enough and allowing things to happen.

"We have lost two goals in five minutes then you are asking for a fantastic response from the players. Getting the goal back was great and it got everybody buzzing. It was fairly quiet in the first half but then it started to get a bit frantic.

"The atmosphere picked up, we gave it our best shot with a couple of great balls into their box. Falkirk were hanging on and got the result.

"There was no way that we were outplayed tonight . When you look at some of the performances during the match we will be alright. We have a decent side it is just things are not going for them just now because they are not taking their chances.

"There is one person I would have loved to have been on the end of a chance there. You can see the chance when Page should have scored but he is a centre half and you really wish that it had been Moffat who was on the end of it. He was on the end of the next one and missed it with a header.

"That's the way it is going for us. The first goal is always crucial; we are not suffering from bad performances just now, we are just suffering from a wee break. It is our own fault because we need to take these chances that we are taking. If we weren't creating chances I would be a lot more concerned.

"There are signs there that we are a good team and there is a long season to go. The league is the priority but we will get better and we start taking our chances. I said that at this time last year and we came out and hit Ayr United for a few. Hopefully we have got a goal or two in us for Saturday."

The manager discussed the red card shown to Falkirk substitute Botti Bia-Bi fifteen minutes from the end.

"It was strange, I have never seen anybody make six or seven forward rolls and I was thinking 'what is that all about?' Ross Millen says that he just went to get the ball and the boy responded. He should not have responded like that. He lost the plot.

"He ended up getting himself sent off. You cannot go sticking your head on somebody. Ross didn't get involved, you could see his own players were trying to hold him back. It was a bit silly to leave his team mates with ten men at that time.

"We got the goal back before he was sent off and he gave his team a tough time of it because we had the extra man. We kept pushing forward, got round the back of them a few times but just couldn't take that opportunity to put it in the net and send it into extra time.

"We were the better team by far in the first half. They started the second half better than us and in that period they scored two goals and we didn't score any when we were on top. That's what wins games."

Falkirk manager Peter Houston's double substitution in 52 minutes paid off with his side hitting two goals within the next eight second half minutes. He commented:-

"You make a substitution to try and make an impact. He (Botti Bia-Bi) made a huge impact . He won us the game and then nearly lost it for us. He reacted to being stamped on in a way that you cannot do.

"Now he is a young kid and I had a word with him there. But I will probably have a quieter word with him during the course of the week because the way he reacted you cannot do on a football pitch.

"The way he got sent off reacting, I think the boy had maybe stamped on him but you get that all the time on football and you need to be big enough and man enough to say 'bide your time'.

"He actually lost the plot. He is a young boy, we will be careful with him but we need to make sure that he never does that again. It put is under severe pressure for the last twenty minutes or so."
