14/08/09: "You know what you are getting when you go to Cappielow. As soon you go in the door you have to have a spot on attitude.

Jim McIntyre dismissed any comparisons to trips to Greenock last season - "It is a new season, a new team and it is up to us to go there and get a result."

Reflecting on last Saturday's match, the Dunfermline Manager said:

"When I look back on the video, I am just pleased with the way we played, especially in the second half. I didn't think that there was much between the teams in the first half, I always thought that we were capable of raising it a bit and we did that in the second half. Obviously it was a sore one to lose a goal when we did, it is always a sickener especially when you deserve more. Different to lose a last minute goal when you have not been in the game; you cannot really complain.

"But it is gone now and the boys have to take the positives - they are in confident spirit and they know they played well. They really appreciated the fans showing their support at the end. It is important because it is easy to not recognise that fact that they have played well. They spoke about that afterwards.

"What we have got to do is to take on that performance and put some of the chances away that we create. The fans could see what we were trying to do in terms of the way that we want to play - fast attacking football. That's the game that we want to play, get bums off seats and excite them. We wanted to play like that last season but didn't have the option of the wider players."

Saturday's opponents Morton impressed last week at Dens Park going down to the only goal of the game:-

"We had them watched, they played very well and were unlucky. The report we got back was favourable and said that they had played well. They moved the ball about well - it wasn't just kicking it long.

"You know what you are getting when you go to Cappielow. As soon you go in the door you have to have a spot on attitude; it is all about your mental attitude and you have to be ready to win a battle down there." The Manager acknowledged that Cappielow produces a good atmosphere assisted by the proximity of the pitch to the stand. "It is a place I always enjoyed playing.

"We have competition for places. Bell has done well, Holmes is doing well too, wee Burkie has been excellent." Macca accepted that some of the fans had not taken to Alex Burke and added that the 31 year old was maybe not everyone's favourite player. "He is the cleverest player we have out there; he does a lot of running about and is not slow."

With virtually a full squad available, Jim McIntyre says bring that headache on all day long! Looking ahead to next week the Manager would only say that he would utilise his full squad:-

"We don't have young boys now, what we have got is a squad of first team players so we will approach the game to try and win it. I will play who I think can win us the game."
