Liam Buchanan Post Partick
Saturday, 26th Mar 2011"At the end of the day we know that they are a good side but I don't think we created too many clear cut chances. It was a disappointing day really."
Liam Buchanan led the attack against his former club but he was not to get on the scoresheet. Talking after the game he felt that Thistle had been good opponents:-
"They made it hard for us. At the end of the day we know that they are a good side but I don't think we created too many clear cut chances. It was a disappointing day really."
The striker failed to notch the winner that would have made his 26th birthday on Sunday all the sweeter. His best chance came in 29th minute of the first half when he received the ball in from David Graham on the right:-
"I saw the ball coming over, took a touch and unfortunately Fox has managed to get a good save on it as I tried to place it in the corner."
Liam agreed that with Raith losing out at Falkirk, a Pars win over Partick would have made a lot of difference not just in league position but also in confidence:-
"It is frustrating but at the end of the day there are still six games to go and everything to play for. The boys will stay up beat and keep going. The boys are not nervous, I just think today that we didn't create chances. We got in wide areas without having the final delivery."
And had familiarity with former team mates stifled Liam's threat on the day?
"Obviously I know a lot of the boys but I don't think that had too much of a say in it."
