01/08/09: Pars rock Dumbarton. "What we have in the team now is real width and real pace; something that we didn't have last year.

Willie Gibson v Dumbarton

Jim McIntyre commented:-

"I watched them a couple of times in pre season and I felt with the way we were playing, if we played with the right tempo and the right desire then we had better players than them.  Sometimes with better players you do not always get what's expected.  There are upsets to be had.  It is all about your mental approach to the game and I thought that was spot on today.

"We were ruthless and could have been even more ruthless.  We squandered a couple as well.  Credit to them because they are taking on board what we want to do, the way we want to play, passing it, move it, get it wide and get it into the box to make as many chances as we can.  I thought some of the stuff today was excellent, I am, very pleased."

Graham Bayne comes close to adding another

The goals certainly made it an easier job for his defenders:-

"You don't win games if you don't score goals. What we have in the team now is real width and real pace; something that we didn't have last year.  Especially in the wider areas, we didn't have that after October.  I have commented on that on numerous occasions.

"We have got good options there now and we have good footballers in the middle of the park.  It is important that you use them and that you move the ball quickly.  We try to shuffle teams from side to side and I think we did that today.

Steven Bell v Dumbarton 01.08.09

"We were on a hiding to nothing coming here. We were expected to come here and win.  Next week the pressure will be back on - Inverness are one of the favourites along with Dundee, we are not - hopefully that will help us.

"We are full of beans at the minute so we are looking forweard to the game next week."

Graeme Holmes v Dumbarton 01.08.09
