Jason wants Pars fired up

Friday, 4th Dec 2015

"We know that if we keep clean sheets all we need to do is take that one chance."

Jason Talbot made his competitive debut for Dunfermline against Brechin City and played his part in the 6-1 win. Could it possibly be another convincing win?

"It depends on the weather conditions on Saturday and how we start the game. If we start the game on fire, who knows? We have heard that they have suffered a couple of injuries and it all depends what team they put out and what formation they put out.

"Hopefully we can put on another good performance and another few goals. In the last couple of weeks we have struggled a little. We only scored one at Ayr but we had chances to win that game and when we were taking these chances we were winning by four, five or six per game.

"We lost our run of clean sheets, that is going to happen, but we were six games unbeaten at the time. It was fantastic and then another clean sheet last Saturday. We know that if we keep clean sheets all we need to do is take that one chance. A 1-0 victory is as good as a four five or six one at the end of the day and three points are all that matters.

"This is the best pitch in the league by far. It is where we have played a lot of our good football, especially at the start of the season. Playing up at Brechin it was quite tight, not as flat and a bit more bobbily."

Three points on Saturday would take the Pars on to 34 points equal with leaders Ayr United. After nine games undefeated in the league, Jason is confident:-

"As long as we do what we need to do then I think we will be fine. I am hoping that when we go down to Ayr for the next game that we are still undefeated. Their run of games unbeaten have stopped now, they don't have a game this weekend so I don't know what affect that will have both mentally and physically."

The 30 year old Pars full back was pleased with the draw for the Fourth round of the Scottish Cup, a home tie against Ross County and happy with the underdog tag:-
"It is nice for the fans, hopefully they will bring a few supporters and it will be a nice day out for everyone."
