Jason's 'goal' is an own goal from Paul Hanlon

Jason Thomson left East End Park to go home and watch his recording of the Dunfermline v Hibs game. The player on loan from Hearts had a key role in the Pars equaliser but wasn't sure if he could believe the messages from his fellow Jambos thanking him for his goal.

"At the time I thought it was my goal. I was always going to claim it and celebrate it especially against Hibs. I have had a few texts from my Hearts mates so that's good.

"A draw was the least we deserved, it was a great fight back from 2-0 down. They got an early goal right after half time but we got the two goals back. After that we were the only team going to win it.

Dunfermline Athletic's Thomsons - Jason and Ryan - were responsible for the goals at Kilmarnock a week past Saturday and Ryan scored again on Saturday against Hibs:. Jason's 'goal' was to be attributed to Hibs Paul Hanlon but  the Jambo was full of praise for his namesake:-

"Ryan scored last week and got his first SPL start this week. He is just a young boy so I am delighted for him." Jason's goal at Kilmarnock was his first in senior football he added:- "The gaffer encourages his full backs to get forward."

Jason is on loan until 1st January and is none the wiser as to whether he will be allowed to play against his club on 25th October when they are the opponents at East End Park.

"I am enjoying being at Dunfermline and getting a regular game. I have played every game since the start of the season and I am delighted to get a run in the team. Hopefully I can do well for the team."

Jason would not welcome returning to Hearts to be bottom of the pile

If things go as well for the rest of his loan period the 24 year old claims that he would be keen to make his move to Dunfermline more permanent:-

"Both parties and myself would need to be happy but I don't want to go back to Hearts to sit in the stand or even on the bench its pointless. I'd rather not do it but rather just come to Dunfermline. The team have come up from the First Division last year and there are a few boys who have played in the SPL and some who have not. We have been taught a few harsh lessons like the Motherwell game, it is a learning curve for everyone but hopefully we can come through it."
